We loved doing this wedding at The Dennis Yacht Club in September for Jessica and Brandon. It was a pleasure working with her brother Adam, from England, to plan and organize this memorable occasion. A special thanks to our great team of vendors and to The Dennis Yacht Club for their hospitality.
Fifteen years is a long time to have a career, especially when one deals high emotion, irrationality, and expectations beyond human capability. Did you know that one of the top most stressful jobs in a nationwide survey lists Wedding or Event Planner as one of the top ten most stressful jobs along with soldier, fireman, surgeon and policeman. I for one am not at all surprised by this. This is a career where quick thinking, extreme problem solving, thick skin, creative Einstein thinking, and the ability to take blame for all and everything become your tools. Your tool box should be quite large, filled with all kinds of things you think you will never need but always end up using. Oh yes and don’t forget, you cannot or do not have a life outside of work. We do not work nine to five and always need to be present and available. Weekends to us are filled with crazy setups, prayers for great weather and when that fails us, successful implementations of perfectly executed rain plans. If you get a thank you or any type of appreciation for running like crazy to make a dream day perfect, count your blessings. Lets be honest, vendors; we all think it but just don’t say it. Why oh why do we keep going back for more.
Here is why I keep going back:
For the ability to do a career that gives a moment in time that cannot be erased in the eyes of the bride and groom and parents. For the ability to create something greater than ourselves
Well our Boston and North Shore expansion has started with our first booked September 2014 wedding at Hammond Castle, despite the rain we loved working this venue, what a unique and special place.
We our finishing up our wedding season on the Cape this month and are excited this winter to be networking in the Boston and North Shore.
Also very excited to be moving this week our Cape Cod office to Main Street in Osterville. Great new rental items and a full showroom and conference room to meet our valued clients.

We are also busy gearing up for our 2nd Annual Seaside Wedding Show at The Nantasket Beach Resort coming up this March.

So my two Senior Planners, Marissa and Kelly and myself headed off Cape today for an out of office experience. First stop was at New England Country Rental’s New Showroom and Warehouse in Hanover. Great to see the space and the new products they have to offer. Then off to a private tasting with a great new caterer, Good Life Kitchen out of Norwell. Very impressive operation and the food was spectacular.
They do cooking classes onsite and we thought it was a great idea for bridal showers or girls night out. I can honestly say I was pretty “wowed” by the menu they selected for us and their hospitality. We hope to be working with them on some upcoming events. Here is one of the delectable delights we were treated to today. Applewood Smoked Chicken with Sweet Potatoes, it was delicious.
Guess you could say WE LOVE OUR JOB!!!!!

Our Seaside Celebration wedding show was a great success, love the venue and all of the amazing vendors showcased their talented services extremely well. We were excited to bring all my 2014 team together for a girls fun filled weekend with some time left over for dining and shopping, hanging out and catching up. It was a lot of work but well worth our efforts, we had a lot of great feedback and many happy brides…happy to say we have been asked to produce another one there for next March.

My Senior Managers and a great team of staff perfectly executed this tented event for a very special Boston couple. Not even the unpredictable weather could stop us from giving the bride her dream day. Special thanks go out to Petaluna Florist and Seasons to Taste Catering for great team work putting this event together against weather odds. We so enjoyed working with them for the first time and hope to work together in the future. Many thanks to the great guys at Sperry Tent for last minute weather fixes and being there when we really needed them!!!

We have been crazy busy here at The Perfect Plan, meeting with several 2014 clients and finalizing details with our May and June 2013 brides… We had appointments from Scituate to Truro and back to Dennis for a great tasting with Chapins Catering on Saturday. Our next few weekends are booked up with out of town clients for 2014. September of 2014 is almost booked out for us. We are networking with new vendors constantly adding great industry professionals to our preferred list to enhance the vendor selections for our clients. With our Cape business solidly growing and thriving we are now offering services in Western Mass and ventured out there last weekend to meet with some great vendors and see some unique and awesome venues. Love that area in the fall and hope to be doing a few weddings there this coming season in mid to late fall.
We have a team of hospitality interns starting with us in May so I am so happy to be mentoring and teaching them the “ropes ” of wedding planning and using them to setup our weddings this summer. They are a huge asset to the company! I cannot forget to thank my amazing Senior Planners, Kelly Bowens and Kasi Miner for their constant dedication and commitment to excellence that they put into leading a great team, without their amazing talents and event skills we could not do what we do!
So excited for our next season!!!
I had two very lucky couples enjoy great hospitality and fabulous cuisine at the March tasting day at Chapin’s. I am so fortunate to have them catering several of my 2013 weddings. I love doing the tasting’s with them, it is very rewarding to be able to spend time with my couples as they are wined and dined by the finest catering team on Cape Cod.
